Lot Notes

This kaleidoscopic work is part of Țuculescu’s third and last creative period known as the “totemic” period. In it he creates a world of essential signs, of circles, spirals, and the characteristic “eyes”. Considering his training as a microbiologist, one cannot help but think that the painting’s explosions of pure colour and gesture resemble the wonders that can only be seen through a microscope.
