Lot Notes

Mihai Sârbulescu co-founded the Prolog group in 1985, along with painters Paul Gherasim, Constantin Flondor, Horea Paștina and Christian Paraschiv.

The main characteristic of the Prolog group, that permeates Sârbulescu’s paintings as well, is a weariless fight to transcend the material. Sârbulescu expresses his search for spirituality through an overarching attention to detail that seems to draw the viewer straight into the essence of the objects he renders.
